James Allen Echols, age 69, of Seligman, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at his home.

He was born January 26, 1945, in Orange County, Texas, the son of Willie Ernest and Ruby Marie (Grimsley) Echols. In 1986, he was united in marriage to Deloris Dutton, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Amanda Fay Cannady and her husband, Kevin, Kimberly Morris and Amber Reeder all of Seligman, Missouri; two brothers, Carl Echols and his wife, Creta of Centerton, Arkansas and Willard Echols and his wife, Thelma of Oklahoma; one sister, Lue Patrick and her husband, Ben of Sulpher Springs, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren, Courtney, Hope and Clayton Dutton, Edwin and Eden Morris, Michaela, Michael Jr, Ruby and Randall Phillips, Jasmine, Isaiah and Andrew Reeder and Stormy Echols and a great grandbaby on the way, Makiya Reeder.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Randall Echols.

James grew up in Seligman, Missouri, where he received his education. He resided in Lowell, Arkansas before moving back to Seligman twenty years ago. For several years he was a packer for Allen Canning Company in Springdale, Arkansas. Some of his favorite pastimes were spending time with family, fishing, going to casinos and mining for gold.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 18, 2014, in Tucks Chapel Cemetery, Avoca, Arkansas under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Brother Bob Rowe will conduct the services.
