Edward Hershel Blalock, 80 of Jacksonville, died Saturday, October 26, 2013. Edward was born February 28, 1933 in Cleveland, TN to the late Johnny and Alma Lee (Traylor) Blalock. He is also preceded in death by a son, Edward Barry Blalock.
Mr. Blalock was a member of Jacksonville’s First Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Garner Blalock of Jacksonville and daughter, Michelle Lynn Blalock of Maumelle; and siblings Jane Clary of Atlanta, GA, Virlus Blalock of Cartersville, GA, Paul Blalock of Covington, GA, Daniel Blalock of Covington, GA, Linda Glover of Conyers, GA, and Brenda Blalock of Logansville, GA. Although he had no grandchildren, he loved his grand-dogs Rudy and Charlie.
Services:
Visitation will be 5-7pm Tuesday at Arkansas Funeral Care, 2620 W. Main St., Jacksonville. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home, with private burial to follow at Riverwood Memorial Gardens, Maumelle.
