Bobby G. Vaughan of Baxter Springs, Kan., passed away Friday, May 18, 2007, at Galena Nursing Center in Galena, Kan. He was 79.

He was born Feb. 10, 1928, to Pete and Alta (Phelps) Vaughan in Cardin.

He was a member of Miami Elks Lodge. He retired from B.F. Goodrich and was a horse trainer.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include special friend, Ila Rae Moreland; two sons, Robert Vaughn of Galena and Bobby Vaughan Jr. of Baxter Springs; three daughters, Joyce Keith of Baxter Springs, Brenda Jarret of Baxter Springs and Connie Green of Galena; one brother: Johnny Vaughan of Lathrop, Mo., 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami with the Rev. Dave Robinson officiating.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Green, Richard Hilderbrand, Johnny Goodwin, Mike Vaughan, Steve Vaughan, and Jamie Paxson. Honorary pallbearers will be Casey McDonald, Jason Keith, Michael Jarrett and John Green.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
