Born August 11, 1879 -- Died July 26, 1938.
Sanscrit Scholar and Ethnologist, Smithsonian Institution 1910-1938.

Michelson was the son of Albert Michelson, the first American to receive a Nobel Prize in physics, by his first wife Margaret McLean Heminway.
