Mamie was the daughter of Gustave Wery and Marie Josephe Chappelle.

She was the first wife of Enoch Ray Burnside. They were married on February 23, 1909. Mamie and Ray were the parents of four daughters:

2-Elaine Ruth 'Pat' Burnside Knutti- born May 24 1916- Sept 1994 FL

She and her husband were divorced and he remarried.

Mamie and Ray Secret Wedding in Maryland Announced Months Later

Clarksburg, W. Va., June 19- Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Wery, of Clarksburg, have issued announcement of the marriage of their daughter, Miss Mamie May Wery, to Mr. E. Ray Burnside, which was solemnized at Oakland, Maryland, February 23, by Rev. J. W. Workman, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church. The marriage had been kept secret until now.
