Johnnie Samuel Riffle, 95, a native of Oak Hill, Fayette County, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, in West Virginia.

Mr. Riffle was born on 03 Nov. 1919, one of nine children of Omer Calvin Riffle and wife Carrie Stewart Riffle. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ola Vest Riffle in 1986; wife Doris James Riffle in 2008; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a son, stepson, a grandson and three sisters.

A celebration of the life was held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at the High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Mark Wood officiating. Interment was in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity, W.Va., where the Oak Hill VFW Post 3110 conducted military graveside rites.
