GREENFIELD – Joshua B. Myers, age 28, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at his residence. He was born on December 12, 1985 in Lafayette, IN as the son of Larry R. and Linda S. (Bennett) Myers. He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 2004. He served in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan and Iraq from 2004-2008. He was a Sergeant of the 82nd Airborne and received a National Defense Service Medal.
He was a member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church, Boy Scout #236 and he loved fishing, camping, hunting, and playing his guitar.
Joshua is survived by his parents, Larry R. and Linda S. (Bennett) Myers of Greenfield; girlfriend, Leslie Wise of Greenfield; infant son, Greyson Myers of Greenfield; step-son, Aiden Wise; sister, Rachel (Josh) Smith of Morristown; brother, Jacob (Jenny) Myers of Denver, CO; grandparents, Samuel & Martha (Leslie) Myers of Indianapolis; step grandmother, Roberta Bennett of Anderson, IN; nieces, Ava and Lilah; and many aunts & uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert & Martha Bennett.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. also at the mortuary. Pastor David Woods will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
