George W. Gettle, 89, of Lebanon, died on Monday, November 10, 2014 at VA Medical Center.
He was born on Sunday, December 28, 1924 to the late Frank W. Gettle and Gertrude E. Gettle nee Bunderman in Lebanon. He was a member of Kochenderfer's United Methodist Church and worked as an electrician, general foreman for Bethlehem Steel. He was a veteran of the Army in World War II and was a POW- Stalag III-C in Germany. George and his wife enjoyed Hersheypark.
Surviving are wife Laura E. Gettle nee Artz; daughter Gail M. spouse of Dennis Wolf, Lebanon; brother Claude Gettle; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Elwood Gettle, Charles Gettle, Frank Gettle, Jr.; sisters Martha Wentzler, Esther Light.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Kochenderfer's United Methodist Church, 1105 Kochenderfer Road, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the church.
Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors, following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kochenderfer's United Methodist Church, 1105 Kochenderfer Road, Lebanon, PA 17046.
