Death of George S. Newman.

Mr. George S. Newman, aged 64 years, formerly of the Rock Spring community, but for many years a resident of Colorado, and more recently of Memphis, Tenn., died at the last named place on Wednesday, November 27th, following an operation for acute kidney trouble. His remains reached LaFayette last Saturday evening at 6:20 and were conveyed to the home of his sister, Mrs. W. J. Gilmore, and on Sunday morning were carried to Rock Spring Church and, after funeral services by the pastor, were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place.
Mr. Newman was a son of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Newman, of Rock Spring community, and became a member of the Rock Spring Church during the pastorage of the late Rev. R. A. J. Cumbee. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Newman; three brothers - Joe F. and W. C., of Rock Spring, and Robert F. Newman, of Waycross, Ga.; four sisters - Mrs. Mary L. Perry and Mrs. W. J. Gilmore, of this county, Mrs. E. C. Langley, of Tallapoosa County, and Mrs. E. J. Hart, of Florida.
