The sudden death of Mrs. John Eikey, which occurred at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jerry O'Brien, with whom she had made her home the past nine years, was a great shock to her family and her many friends.

As usual, she arose and dressed, but soon went to lie down when she was suddenly stricken and lived only half an hour. She had worried continually about her husband, who had a shock Sept 15, and who has since then, been confined to his bed, sitting up at times for only a little while.

Mrs. Eikey was a good woman, and rarely went out side the yard about her home. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Her funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 31, at 1 o'clock, after which the body was taken to Woodlawn cemetery, Sandy Creek, where she was laid to rest in the family lot, beside her first husband, who died 46 years ago.

Mrs. Eiky was 77 years, 5 mo., and 15 days old and is survived by her aged husband, John Eikey; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry O'Brien, of Henderson; one step-daughter, Mrs. William Ridgeway, of Lacona; one step-son, James M. Maitland, of Watertown; several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
