Post-Standard, The (Syracuse, NY) - Tuesday, March 22, 1988

Arnold R. Casler, 60, of Route 11 North, Sandy Creek, died Monday at Mercy Hospital, Watertown, from injuries suffered in a fall at a construction job at Fort Drum.
A native of Lorraine, Mr. Casler was a life resident of the Sandy Creek area. He was a boilermaker.
Mr. Casler was a member of the Black River Fiddler's Association.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lillian Miller; a daughter, Debra Baker of Watertown; two sons, Michael of Sandy Creek and Kenny of Sandy Pond; a brother, Robert of Croghan; four sisters, Hazel Bachus of Lorraine, Dorothy Comstock of Mannsville, Shirley Widrig of Lacona and Marilyn Bisig of Rodman; and six grandchildren.

SANDY CREEK - The funeral for Arnold R. Casler, 60, Route 11 North, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Summerville Funeral Home, with Rev. Janet Gibbs, pastor of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Casler died at about 11:45 a.m. Monday when he fell backward through a hole after removing a piece of metal covering a hole in the floor of the heating plant under construction at Fort Drum.
