Watertown Daily Times (NY) - Tuesday, October 17, 1995

Edmund "John" Blackmer, 83, of 367 Center Road, retired carpenter, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, where he had been a patient since Friday.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.
There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek.
Memorial donations may be made to Northern Oswego County Ambulance, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Surviving are his wife, Reta, three nieces and a nephew.
A sister, Ellen Kent, died previously.
Born May 29, 1912, in Adams, son of Edmond and Celestine Presley Blackmer, he was educated in Adams schools and married Reta Nellis on Oct. 8, 1953, in Clarks Summit, Pa.
Mr. Blackmer lived in Lacona since 1953. He retired in 1977 as a self-employed carpenter.
He was a self-taught accordionist and the leader of the band We Three.
During the 1930s, Mr. Blackmer performed in Schines Theaters throughout New York state.
