Leslie D. Benson, 89, of 205 Aspen St., Liverpool, died Tuesday at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Benson was born in Taylor, Cortland county, and lived in Liverpool 72 years. He was a retired employee of the Onondaga County Department of Social Services. His wife, Lois, died in 1981.
He was a member of Liverpool First United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a charter member of Liverpool American Legion Post 188.
Surviving are a brother, Wendell Benson of Albany; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are at 1 p.m. Friday at Maurer Funeral Home, Liverpool, the Rev. Ruth Webster officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.
