Funeral services for Larry William Atkinson will be held Friday, November 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah.
Larry William Atkinson was born April 10, 1947 in Fresno, California to Earnest Lee Atkinson and Alma (Heinz) Atkinson. He passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 in Henryetta, Okla. at the age of 67.
Mr. Atkinson was a graduate of Caruthers High School and later attended Fresno State University. On December 17, 1971 in Clovis, California he married Evelyn Anne Gregurich. Mr. Atkinson was a retired contractor and loved spending time with his family and especially with his granddaughters, Aubree and Addelyn. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was on the Wetumka School Board for five years. Mr. Atkinson served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one Brother, Virgil; and two sisters, Alice and Bobbie.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn Atkinson of the home, one Son; Andrew Atkinson and wife Summer of Wetumka, OK. Two Brothers; Robert Atkinson and wife Liz of Fresno, California, Ernie Atkinson and wife Shirley of Easton, California, two Sisters; Olive Ann Garrison and husband Eugene of Wetumka, OK and Marie Moore of Washington and two granddaughters, Aubree and Addelyn. He is also survive by a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Judy Goodspeed.
