MARBLEHEAD - Dennis Patrick Duggan, 48, of Marblehead and Gloucester, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003 in the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was the son of Vincent and Emeline (McCune) Duggan of Marblehead, and the fiance of Carol Clark of Gloucester.

Mr. Duggan was a salesman for most of his working life. He traveled extensively throughout the world, working in Malaysia, Ireland and Greece, and living on the island of Corfu. He also worked throughout New England and was most recently employed by BSI, Inc., based in Reston, Va., with an office in Gloucester.

Mr. Duggan loved playing and watching sports. He played football and baseball in college and semi-professional rugby in Connecticut until he was 38. He enjoyed a challenge and played flag football and fantasy football.

He was also a great debater and could debate many topics, pro or con. He loved the water and enjoyed his time in Gloucester, whether it was at the beach, on a boat, or on the deck watching boats leave the harbor. He was a member of the Crustacean Club, which he and Carol established in 2002.

Mr. Duggan also enjoyed cribbage tournaments and was an avid reader.
