Janet Lorraine Webb, 82, of Gorham passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Nov. 8, 2014. Mrs. Webb was born on Sept. 8, 1932 in South Portland, one of five children of Eugene and Esther Robbins.
She worked for nine years in the Insurance field before becoming employed by S.D. Warren Paper Company and was the recipient of an Outstanding Performance Award for more than 32 years of dedication and professional service at S.D. Warren Company from 1959-1992. On Jan. 12, 1950, she married George Warren Webb sharing 64 years of marriage together.
Her enjoyments include working in her flower and vegetable gardens, and the love of her Gorham Extension Club and especially the love of all children.
In addition to her husband, family members include a son, Dwight George Webb and his fiance Bridgett O'Brien of Gorham, a daughter, Launa Lynn Varney and her husband, Earlon (Chuck) Varney, Jr. of Windham; two grandsons, Stephen Michael Webb and his wife, Alicia of Waterboro and Benjamin Dwight Webb and his wife, Shana of Gorham; two great grandchildren, Dakota Marie Webb and Austin James Webb; a brother, Eugene (Butch) Robbins of Pinellas Park, Fla. and sisters, Cheryl J. Robbins and companion, William Dinger of Gorham and Judith Robbins Wyman and husband, Will of Corinna; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Doris Robbins Johnston.
