Timothy “Papa” Trotter, 70 of Scottsboro, passed away in his home with his family at his side on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. He was born on February 6, 1943 to Adron and Marge Trotter in Sacramento, California. Tim married Georgia “Gigi” Hall on June 12, 1964 in Leavenworth, Washington.
Tim graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor degree in Forest Management. He worked for a short time in forestry in Washington before changing careers and joining the Navy to fulfill his dream of becoming an aviator. He started his naval career in Pensacola, Florida where he completed his flight training. Tim served twenty honorable years including search and rescue flying helicopters in the Vietnam War earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and many other awards and recognition for his dedication to our country. Tim was a graduate of the United States Test Pilot School in Patuxent River, Maryland. He was a member of the Experimental Test Pilot Society. Tim worked for several military contractors with the last being with Westar in Huntsville where he was a Senior Scientist until his retirement on February 14, 2012.
Tim is survived by his wife Gigi and their three children; Tanya Rutherford (Ryan),Timothy Trotter Jr. (Susan), and Tabatha Collins (Kris), ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
