John P. Farley
John Preston Farley, 78, of 117 N. McLean died at 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital.
He was a retired plant manager for Phillips Petroleum.
He was born in Marion Jan. 13, 1897, to Charles and Emma Miller Farley. He had lived in Ottumwa and Des Moines most of his life.
He was an Army World War I veteran, a member of the Congregational Church, the American Legion and Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, Charles N. Farley of Washington, D.C. and John T. Farley of Philadelphia; three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Maze Joslin of Ottumwa.
The service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Jay Funeral Home, the Rev. Paul Hart officiating. Burial will b in Oak Shade Cemetery at Marion.
