She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, William H. Sadler; 2 sons, Robert and George Sadler; brothers, Roy, Dick, Joe and Gene Max Whatley and 1sister, Jane Pritchett.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Herb (Barbara) Sadler of Gulf Breeze, FL and Dr. Barry (Judy) Sadler of Eufaula, AL; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rev. Ray Whatley of Ashville, NC and W. D. Whatley of Atlanta, GA and 1 sister, Shirley Burge of Grove Hill, AL. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sadler owned and operated Sadler Grocery in Thomasville, AL for many years. Later, she worked for Thomasville Hospital where she founded United Credit Agency to collect over-due hospital accounts. She was a member of Thomasville United Methodist Church and served as secretary, first as a volunteer, later as an employee. She also helped start the church nursery, where she served for 40 years. After retiring, her husband and she moved to the family home in Grove Hill, AL where she was a member of Grove Hill United Methodist Church. For the past 51/2 years she lived at The Villas and was a member of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church.
Elizabeth Sadler had the capacity to engender love from all who knew her. Her family and friends are grateful for her unconditional love, witness and blessing.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12noon, Friday, November 14, 2014 at Grove Hill United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the William and Elizabeth Sadler Memorial Endowed Scholarship, University of South Alabama, Development Office, Development Services Building, 300 Alumni Circle, Mobile, AL 36688.
