William J. "Bill" Dugan, 77, a lifelong Shelby County resident, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at his residence.

Bill was born June 3, 1936, in Shelby County, the son of Russell and Mary (Tillison) Dugan. On December 3, 1954, he married Jenny Sue Nedderman.

Together Bill and his wife of 58 years, Jenny have raised three children, Kathleen "Kathy" (husband, Jay) DeMoss, Michael Jay Dugan and James Allen Dugan, all of Shelbyville; the loving grandfather of Emily DeMoss (husband, Steve) Keller of Needham, Natalie Dugan (husband, Kenny) Browning, Michelle Dugan (husband, Justin) Rupert, Jenny DeMoss and Joe Dugan, all of Shelbyville; great-children, Brayden Ronan, Grace Browning, Ava Browning, Michael Dugan and Ellianna Keller; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Dragon and a brother, John Dugan.

Bill was member of First Church of the Nazarene; and honorary member of Shelbyville Lions Club and Shelbyville Rotary. He was made a honorary member of these organizations by the members, due to his attentiveness and dedication to their causes.

He was the former owner of Dugan's Flower Shop, established The Fiddler's Three Restaurant and Pub in 1971 and the Bavarian Haus in 1983. Bill was a master wood craftsman building custom kitchen cabinets, furniture, grandfather clocks, his work has been distributed throughout the United States. He always said he could look at a tree and see a piece of furniture. He loved every piece of beautiful wood.

Bill attended magic school and will be fondly remember as an entertainer sharing his jokes and magic tricks with his many friends.

Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He often took his children and then his grandchildren on exploring adventures and taught all of them a true appreciation of the beauty of the world.

He shared his blessings with anyone less fortunate.

Bill and Jenny, enjoyed their 55 acres of property near Madison, where they would spend time with family and friends, overlooking the Ohio Valley. To him the view all around shows God's creation in all its beauty.
