Shreveport, LA - Susie Bell Phillips unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, November 9th. Susie Bell was born in Shreveport on May, 3 1956 to Mary Clare and Robert Taliaferro. She was a lifelong resident of Shreveport. Susie Bell was a loving mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend. Her children were the greatest joy of her life; she was so proud of them. Susie Bell was a passionate animal lover, always taking in a stray. She was an accomplished equestrian, and had a life long love of horses. She had a heart of gold and would have given anyone the shirt off of her back.

Susie Bell is preceded in death by her father, Robert Taliaferro; her sister, Fran Taliaferro; and her niece, Grace Massey. She is survived by her mother, Mary Clare Taliaferro; her beloved children, Collin Phillips, Dr. Susie Bell Phillips and Marcus Grisham, and Alexa Phillips; the father of her children, Fred Phillips; her sister, Mary Clinton Massey and husband Brad; her cherished nieces and nephews, Fran Davis and husband Lance, Thatcher Massey, and Clare Massey; and her aunt, Frances Peyton. Susie Bell could light up a room with her beauty and spirit. She will be greatly missed by all that she loved and touched.

The family will receive people to honor the memory of Susie Bell for a visitation/celebration of life at Superior's Steakhouse from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12th. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Couch Chapel in downtown Shreveport on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Pat Day officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.
