Wilbert served as a Private First Class, Company B, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He resided in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware prior to the war.

Wilbert "Gave His All" in the Phu Yen Province, South Vietnam for our country during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

At the families request, his state of birth was added to his headstone (Pennsylvania) instead of his state of residence (Delaware).

Wilbert is honored on Panel 5E, Row 9 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Washington, D.C.
