Harry graduated from Sault Area High School with the class of 1957, then enlisted with the U.S. Marine Corp where he served from 1957-1959. He then was employed with the City of Sault Ste. Marie as a Fireman, retiring after 26 years of service with the rank of Captain. Harry enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He loved spending time with the grandchildren and spending time at their cabin at Salt Pointe, a place they loved very much.
Harry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Deann (McGill) Lounds: three children: Chuck (Cheryl Brown) Lounds of Kinross, MI, Wendy (Rich) Moon of Sault Ste. Marie, MI and Tammy (Robert) Ault of Drummond Island, MI; Six grandchildren: Nathan, Nicholas and Courtney Moon and Charlie, Bryan and Keith Lounds; and four great-grandchildren: Ella and Lillian Moon, Hunter Lounds and Cole Gendron. He is also survived by four brothers: Al Lounds of St. Johns, MI, Don (Nancy) Lounds of Charlotte, MI, Roger (Ellen) Lounds of Holt, MI, and Bernard (Linda) Lounds of Holt, MI; three sisters: Betty Gilroy of Port Richie, FL, Ila (Jesse) Smith of Kalamazoo, MI and Audrey Ney of Holt, MI; brother in-law and sister-in law: Duane and Elenor McGill and several nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, great-grandchild: Rory Andrew Lounds, and Daryl and Thelma McGill.
