Born July 2, 1913, in Barnum, Minnesota, to George and Emily Carlson, and was the only daughter in a family of four children. She passed away June 14, 2001, in Tacoma, where she had resided for 40 years. She graduated from St. Cloud Teachers’ College and was a teacher most of her life. She had moved to Seattle and married James C. Rogers during World War II. Preceded in death by her 3 brothers and her husband. Survived by her daughter, Diane Umbarger, of Tacoma and son, Robert Rogers of Portland, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held at Fir Lane Funeral Home on Wed- nesday, June 20, 2001, at 11:00 AM.
