Larry Eugene Nunn, 69, of Columbus, Indiana, died at 5:02 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014, at his home while surrounded by his family.

Born April 28, 1945, in Table Grove, Illinois, Larry was the son of Gerald Eugene and Barbara Saville Nunn. He was a 1963 graduate of Cuba High School in Cuba, Illinois, and a 1971 graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelors Degree in accounting. He moved to Columbus in 1973 while working for Clifton Gunderson & Co. He opened his own accounting practice in 1976, Larry E. Nunn & Associates, and served as its managing partner until September 1, 2014.

Larry married Mary Ann Meyer on September 15, 1979, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. They have a daughter, Lisa Marie (Jason) DeBord, and two grandchildren, Emma Elizabeth DeBord and William Parker DeBord.

Larry was a past president of the Indiana CPA Society, past member of the AICPA Council and past president of the Indiana State Board of Accountancy. Larry was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he served as Treasurer. He was also President of the Carl Marshall and Mildred Almen Reeves Foundation. He served as adjunct professor at IUPUC. Mary Ann and Larry were also actively involved in their farming operations.

Larry had an extensive collection of books on the Civil War and United States presidents. In addition to being a long time Illini fan, Larry enjoyed watching the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bears. Larry and Mary Ann often traveled to Alaska, Maine and historical sites throughout the country.

For many years, Larry coached little league and served as sports color commentator for the local radio station.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church - Clifty with the Pastor Doug Bauman officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver, & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Growing with Christ or the I.U. Simon Cancer Center for colon cancer research.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Eugene Nunn; step-father, Duane "Shake" Parker; maternal grandparents, Ernest Lee and Nellie Mae Henderson Saville; paternal grandparents, Roy Lee and Della Blanche (Martindale) Nunn; and his father and mother-in-law, Martin and Margaret Strietelmeier Meyer.
