Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie "Zit" Pierce Parker, 87 who passed away Nov 8, 2014 will be conducted Wednesday at 4 o’clock in the McIntyre Baptist Church, Rev. Johnny Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 3 o’clock until the funeral hour.
Mrs. Parker was a native of Wilkinson County and had made her home in Thomaston for most of her adult life and had retired from the Thomaston City Schools in 1986. She taught Sunday School at the First Baptist Church in Thomaston, she was past president of the WMU and was a former member of the McIntyre Baptist Church and was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, GA. The daughter of the late Vivian “Drippy” Pierce and Alma Wynn Pierce, and was predeceased by her husband William Harrison Parker and a granddaughter Julie Davis, and brothers Mack, J.B. and R.A. Pierce.
Survivors include a daughter Pam (Raymond) Floyd of Douglasville, GA a son Jere (Donna) Parker of Dacula, GA; sister Viva Stubbs of Irwinton; brother Tom Pierce of Toomsboro; sister in law Elizabeth Pierce of Danville; grandchildren Kim, Kelley and Katie Parker, Ray Floyd and Erin Hubbard; 10 great grandchildren a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Ga. Baptist Children’s Home or to the McIntyre Baptist Church Building Fund.
