Mr. Burns was born May 12, 1924, in Emory, Texas.
He was retired owner of Burns Grocery, a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Katherine Burns of Pittsburg; one son, Danny K. Burns of Pittsburg; one daughter, Teresa Ann Gholston of New Boston, Texas; five grandchildren, Tausha Renee’ Carlson of Austin, Blake Daryn Burns of Fort Worth, Texas, Bradley Kyle Burns of Keller, Texas, Lance Christopher Gholston of Arlington, Texas, and Collin Ryan Gholston of New Boston; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
