Services for Herbert Kenneth "Kenny" Adams, 72, will be 2 p.m. Monday at New Hope Church of God. Arrangements are under the direction of Ford Funeral Service.
Born April 12, 1933 at Oxen Hill, Md., he died Jan. 18, 2006. He was preceded in death by his mother, Della S. Adams, and a brother, Edward "Eddie" Adams.
Kenny gave 20 years of service to our country during the Vietnam era. He retired as a technical sergeant in April, 1973 with top military honors. He had served at numerous stations of deployment including the Pentagon, Korea and NORAD. During his military retirement Kenny worked 20 years at Hertz Data Corporation at Oklahoma City as a computer operator. During his civilian retirement Kenny played an active role in the lives of his grandsons, Tanner and Andrew, becoming the most loved of grandfathers.
He died of complications of emphysema surrounded by family, friends and loved ones.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Wilma Adams, two daughters, Debi Nakanashi and her husband, Warren and their children Chenise, Cheyenne and Jacob, and Laura Hickman and her children, Tanner and Andrew, one sister, Irene Cesaro, and two brothers, Bud and Bill Adams.
