Funeral services for Mr. William Leon Pruitt, age 77, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2011, in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Harvey and Cathy Pruitt officiating. Interment followed in Carter Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Pruitt, a resident of Bastrop and a retired employee of Berry Packing, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in West Monroe.
Mr. Pruitt is preceded in death by: His wife, Shirlean Marie Pruitt; a son, Bobby Gene Pruitt; parents William Earl and Nancy Elizabeth Pruitt; a brother, James Edward Pruitt; and sisters Oma May Swopes, and Vaunda Jean McKoin.
Mr. Pruitt is survived by: Two children, Leon Dewayne Pruitt and wife Cathy, Shirley Pruitt and fiancee Jack Middleton; two sisters - Naomi Eunice Dailey, Lula Marie Fortune; two brothers, Norman Ray Pruitt, Royce Elmer Pruitt; as well as five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Derek Pruitt, Chad Pruitt, Shane Florence, Mike McKoin, and Floyd Swopes.
