Leonard E. Basler, 94, of Macon, MO, passed away on November 10, 2010, at the Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon. Leonard was born on June 13, 1916, east of Bloomington, MO, the son of Everett and Pearl (Wilcox) Basler. On August 17, 1940, he married Lillian Allen in St. Joseph, MO. After working in the lead mine in Kellogg, Idaho; they moved back to Missouri and resided on their farm east of Macon. Leonard enjoyed working the farm that he and Lillian resided on for most of their married life. He was a Christian man and will be missed, but never forgotten by his loved ones. Leonard is survived by his wife, Lillian, two nephews, Larry and his wife, Louise, Michael and his wife, Mitzie, one niece; Cathy Miller and her husband, Greg, and several great nieces and nephews as well as cousins. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents as well as one brother, Ralph Basler. Funeral service will be on Friday, November 12, 2010, at 11:00 am at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral home in Macon with Brother Howard Hartung officiating. Visitation will also be Friday, November 12, 2010, from 10:00 am to the time of service at Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Burial will be in the South Enon Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to the South Enon Cemetery.
