Christina "Eva" Lawson, 86, of Manchester, died Thursday afternoon,Nov. 11, 1999, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born Oct. 8, 1913, in Roodhouse, the daughter of Elmer and Viva Cooley Herron. She married Ernest "Gussie" Lawson of Jan. 27, 1930,in St. Louis, Mo., and he preceded her in death in 1993.

She is survived by three daughters, Jane (husband, Harold) McMillen of Manchester, Lila Louise (husband, Paul) Myers of Bunker Hill, and Bonnita M. (husband, Bob) Martin of Woodson; 13 grandchildren; 19great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Herron of Murrayville; and one sister, Ruby Bucholtz of Monett, Mo. She was preceded in death by three siblings.

Mrs. Lawson was a homemaker all of her life. She loved to read and an avid interest in Montadale sheep raising and showing. She was amember of the Assembly of God Church in Roodhouse and had been aninsurance representative for AFLAC.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday at the Manchester Baptist Church with burial at Manchester Cemetery. The remains will betaken to the church one hour prior to the services. Friends may call after 2 pm Saturday at the Mackey-Daws Funeral Home in Roodhouse with the family meeting friends from 6-8 pm.
