OBIT.: "Joe W. Armstrong is dead at Campeche"; He was a former resident of Austin-He is survived by one sister and six brothers-buried in Mexico. News of the death of Joe W. Armstrong was received here yesterday. Mr. Armstrong died at 2 o'clock on August 4, at Campeche, Mexico, at which place he had been for some time. He was 38 years of age and formerly lived here, where he was well known. He was a son of the late Dr. D. H. Armstrong of this city. He is survived by his mother, six brothers and one sister. His brothers are Dr. J. A. and Claude Armstrong of San Marcos, R. M. and H. I. Armstrong of Austin, Tom T. Armstrong of Beaumont and Louis L. Armstrong of Chattanooga, Tenn. His sister is Mrs. Lula L. McCarty of San Antonio. The funeral will be held at Campeche. His brother, Dr. Armstrong, was with him at the time of his death. "Austin Statesman," Aug. 6, 1905, pg. 8.
