STEWART Mrs. Gwendolyn Daniels Stewart, a well-known educator, passed away peacefully May 19, 2011. Mrs. Stewart was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, FL, where she was a graduate of Boylan Haven School for Girls. Furthering her education she attended Bennett College where she earned her Bachelors degree in English and Masters degree from the University of Florida. As one of Duval County's Outstanding Educators, Mrs. Stewart was employed with the Duval County School Board until she retired in 1986, after rendering 33 years of dedicated service. She was a member and former organist of St. Philip's Episcopal Church.


Survivors include her children, Ms. Sharon Gordon, Mrs. Adrienne Huntley (Howard) and Ralph Stewart, III; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great- great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Hattie Stewart; sisters-in law, Ms. Rebecca Daniels and Ms. Charlotte Stewart; a number of other relatives and friends.


A MEMORIAL SERVICE celebrating the life of Mrs. Stewart will be held 11 AM, Saturday, May 28, 2011 in the Rufus E. Payne Memorial Chapel of the mortuary, Rev. Harry Webster, Bethel Baptist Institutional Church, officiating. THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC VIEWING. Memorialization will be by cremation.
