Charles O. Visser, the son of John Visser and Martha Truster, was born September 5, 1883 in Ringgold County, Iowa and passed away January 19, 1956 at the Mercy Hospital in Oskaloosa at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 14 days.

He was united in marriage to Agnes De Leeuw on July 24, 1907 and to this union two children were born, John E. Visser of New Sharon, and Sophie Ellen at home. He spent most of his life in Marion and Mahaska Counties as a farmer and 22 years ago when he moved to Oskaloosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes, and two children John and Sophie Ellen, one sister, Mrs. Dora Mitchell of Jefferson City, Mo., one half sister, Myrtle, Mrs. Fred Rossen of Stoneham, Colo., and three grandchildren.

He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and came into the Church of Nazarene in Oskaloosa September 23, 1934 and was a loyal member until the time of his death.

He was a kind and loving father and will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 23, 1956 at 2:00 p.m. from the Church of the Nazarene of Oskaloosa. The Rev. T. T. McCord officiated. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, Pella.
