Home at last! Margaret Draper Prillaman, 82, of Roanoke, formerly of Shannon Hills, Ridgeway died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 31, 2006 at South Roanoke Nursing Home in Roanoke, Va. from complications associated with Alzheimer's . She was born on February 6, 1924 in Henry County to Jesse Spottsyl Draper and Sallie Lou Davis Draper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Walter Eldridge Prillaman; one brother, Spottsyl (Spot) Draper; and one grandchild, Ashley L. Nash. She worked at DuPont and Henry County Public School as a Teacher's Aid. She was a member of the DAR, Shannon Hills Homemaker's Club, and graduated from Martinsville High School and Perry Business School. She was a long-time member of Rich Acres Christian Church. She was an excellent cook, accomplished seamstress and basket weaver and she enjoyed crafts of all types. Survivors include daughters, Debbie Nash and husband, Steve of Roanoke, Mary Lou Lumsden and husband, Gary of Roanoke; one son, Walter Eldridge (W.E.) Prillaman, Jr., and wife, Tammy of Houston, Texas; one sister, Helen Jane Draper of Ridgeway; one brother, Gilmore Draper of Bassett; seven grandchildren, Sidney Poole, Clay Nash, Lauren, Kyle, and Meredith Lumsden, Jessika and Ridge Prillaman. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Services Chapel and other times at the home of Helen Draper. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Rich Acres Christian Church with the Rev. Tim Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2728 Colonial Ave #2, Roanoke, Va. 24015. Arrangements are by McKee-Stone Funeral Services. www.mckee-stonefuneralhome.com.
