Mr Robert Ellison Dennis, Jr of the class of 1902 of the South Carolina College, was called to his home in Bishopville last Sunday by the illness of his mother. Her death occurred at 10:30 am Monday. She was the wife of Dr Robert Ellison Dennis, one of the best known physicians in that section of the country. Scores of friends mourn her death. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church of Bishopville yesterday.

Death of Mrs Mary Green Dennis
Bishopville, March 4 [1902] - Mrs Mary Graves Green Dennis, wife of Dr R E Dennis of this place, was buried at the Presbyterian cemetery today, the funeral sermon being preached by the Rev A C Walker of the Methodist church.
Mrs Dennis was the daughter of the Rev H D Green, one of the signers of the Ordinance of Secession, and was brought up in the Mechanicsville section of this county. On February 20, 1865, she was married to Dr Dennis, who survives her. She also leaves surviving her five children: E C Dennis, Esq, Darlington, Mrs J D Hill, Oswego; Misses Rebecca Dennis and Theo Dennis, and R E Dennis, Jr, who is a member of the senior class of the South Carolina College.
Mrs Dennis was in her 61st year ad since early girlhood had been a membe rof the Methodist church, and there was not a more zealous member or a more devoted Christian. She had been in feeble health for some time and when she contracted pneumonia two weeks ago, she gradually sank until the end came.
