Alfred "Dutch" Herde
Alfred D. "Dutch" Herde, 89, Topeka, died Saturday, July 5, 1997, at a Topeka nursing home.
He was born Sept. 16, 1907, in Jefferson County, the son of Emanuel and Anna Altman Herde, and lived in Topeka since 1935. He was employed by Neon Signs 30 years. He later owned and operated Dutch's Skyhook five years.
He was married to Eloise French in 1936. She died in 1952. He was married to Ellen Holm May 1, 1955, in Lyndon. She survives.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rochester Cemetery. Mr. Herde will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home.
