He spent much of his life working for others, whether as a longtime Caddo Parish Fire Captain or as an EMT for DeSoto Parish EMS, or as a local handyman doing odd jobs for neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Earl Prock, and is survived by his wife, Sheryl Langford Prock; his mother, Bobbie L. Prock; his son, Michael James Prock; his daughter, Jennifer Leigh Prock; his granddaughter, Alyssa Nicole Prock; his brothers, James Robert Prock and wife, Judy, John Thomas Prock and wife, Dianne; his father-in-law, Jewel Langford; his mother-in-law, Eva Langford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Susan Stine, Stephen Langford, and David and Toni Langford.
Captain Prock, age 52, had stopped by to see his mother at her residence, where he was attacked, and killed by two assailants while on the scene.
