Carolyn Metcalf, age 92, of Connersville, passed away on September 24, 2006 at Lincoln Centers West.
She was born in Connersville on August 22, 1914 the daughter of the late Elish Alfred and Alma Pauline Hubbell Cockefair.
She was a graduate of Everton High School and had attended Ball State and Indiana State University and received a Bachelors of Science Degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH. She had taught in Fayette County Schools for 32 years. During her life she had been a member of the AAUW, National Retired Teachers Association, Fayette County Retired Teachers Association, DAR, Historic Connersville and The Dr. Eliza Blaker Club.
Ms. Metcalf is survived by a sister, Wilma Fields of Lutz, Florida. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clark Metcalf.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 2 PM at Urban Winkler Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Nicola of the First Baptist Church officiating. Friends and family may call from noon until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will follow at Everton Cemetery.
