Joe Haden Driver, age 72 of Cromartie Road, Gillsville, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 11, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Drewery Loggins will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 and Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 6 – 9 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Driver was born January 2, 1937 to the late Joe Haden Driver, Sr. and Nellie Elizabeth Clardy Driver. Joe was self employed in construction and was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Imogene Wilmoth Driver, his brother, Rudy Driver and his sister, Myrtle Wilson.
Mr. Driver is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Janie & Ernest Manus of Gillsville, step-daughter & husband, Judy & Bobby Chafin of Dahlonega, sons, Joe Haden Driver of Gillsville and Phillip Driver of Cumming, son & daughter-in-law, Curtis & Kathy Driver of Gillsville, 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, half-brother, Jimmy Wakefield of Cherokee County and half-sister, June Ables.
