Daniel Phillip Dawson, 17, 1875 McGowan Blvd., Marion, a lifetime resident of Marion, died Wednesday, April 23, at a local hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born July 16, 1962 in Cedar Rapids.
He was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church and belonged to the Drama club at St. Paul's. He was a junior at Linn-Mar high school and played in the Linn-Mar school band.
Surviving in addition to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Dawson, are three sisters, Jennifer Dawson of Ames, Kris and Julie Dawson of Marion; one brother, Douglas of Marion, and grandmother, Mrs. Velma Soupene of Cedar Rapids.
Memorial services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Rev. Warren S. Webb of St. Paul's United Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
