Nelson “Whitey” Marshall Jackson, 74, of 568 Westfield Drive,New Holland, died Wednesday
at Lancaster General Hospital following a brief illness.

He was the husband of Ruth M. Miles Jackson. They observed their 49th anniversary in June.

Born in Compass, he was a son of the late J. Harvey and Agnes Ruth Plank Jackson.

He worked 27 years as an automobile sales-
man at Horning Dodge, New Holland, retiring in 1984, and he previously worked at El Mor Chevrolet in Morgantown and Harlan Slack Dodge Plymouth in Coatesville.

He graduated from Salisbury High School and
Honey Brook High School.

He was a staff sergeant in the Medical Detachment of the 5l4th Field Artillery Battalion during World War II.

He was a member of Saint Stephen's United Church of Christ, New Holland, and the Wawasan Post 5337 of the American Legion, Honey Brook.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five daughters: Andree M. Leeper, New Holland; Patricia A. Jackson, Flying Hills; Nelsa J., wife of Glen Taylor, Morgantown; Narda J., wife of
the Rev.Bruce R.Druckenmiller, Williamsport;
and Fay A.J., wife of Steve Bressler, Lititz; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma, wife of Edgar Maitland, Lakeland, Fla.
