Mrs. Johanna Mathews, 82, widow of Michael Mathews, died early this morning at the home of her only son, Michael T. Mathews, 238 New Hampshire Ave., Mapleside. She is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. Francis M. Hewitt, this city and Sister Mary Thomasine of the Ursuline Order, Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren, the Rev. W. Hewitt of the Maryknoll Missions, now home from Manchukuo, China, on a year's leave of absence; Thomas A. and Lawrence A. and John Hewitt, all of this city; three great grandchildren, Rosalie Hewitt, James E. and Robert L. Mathews. The family has requested that floral tributes be omitted.
