Victor Carr, Jr. was the son of Victor M. Carr and Louisa Herod. He served in Cuba in the Spanish-American war, 1897-1898, in Co. K, 161st Indiana Infantry. When he returned from this service, he married Nora Elizabeth Davis June 12, 1899, in Decatur Co., Indiana.

Victor served as Justice of the Peace at Hartsville for six years. Two weeks prior to his death, he stepped on a rusty nail while walking barefoot. He developed tetanus, resulting in his death.

Victor Carr died Friday at Hartsville, age 52. He served in the Spanish American War. He was the son of the late Capt. V.M. Carr. Funeral service was Monday at the Hartsville Christian Church with burial at College cemetery. He is survived by his widow and 6 children.
