Mayme was born Feb. 20, 1900, out on a farm near Granger, Minn. She attended grade school in Granger and high school at Cresco, Iowa. Mayme moved to Cresco with her parents in 1915. She married George Seeley on Aug. 23, 1918. Of this union was born one son, Craig Erwin Seeley Sr. For 57 years, George and Craig operated a store on Ellis Boulevard, which then became an ice cream store. Craig and his wife, Velma, ran the ice cream store for five years.

Mayme Seeley Byrd moved to The Meth-Wick Community in 1980. Mayme married John Byrd in 1983, and he died in February 1992. She was co-owner of Seeley Grocery and a member of St. James United Methodist Church, church circles and president of Harrison PTA.

Mayme was a very social person, very happy and giving to all.
Mayme was preceded in death by her husbands and a son, Craig Seeley Sr.
