MSG (Ret) David Lee “Schoochie” Redmond departed this life at the age of 76 on Wednesday, November 5th 2014.
He was born in Nashville on the 30th of August, 1938 to the late Dave and Bessie (Johnson) Redmond. David was artistic, patriotic and hard working. His joys in life were writing/poetry, artwork, shade tree mechanic, avid sports fan and a devoted family man.
David served 9 years in the United States Air Force and 21 years in the Tennessee Army National Guard, achieving several honorable citations, including retiring as a Master Sergeant He was a Sears employee for over 40 years, serving in various roles before retiring in 2008.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Betty , two daughters and their husbands, one son and his wife, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister, one brother and his wife and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 8th 2014 in Woodlawn's Dignity Hall, with Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
