Age 92 of Coal City, passed away Friday at his home. Born in Morris, Glenn was a son of the late Harry and Theresa (Jackson) Baker. He was raised in Morris and graduated from Morris Community High School. Glenn honorably served in the United States Army during WWII, where he earned a Purple Heart and a Silver Star, as well as other various medals and accolades. He retired from Illinois Clay Products. Glenn was an active member of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Coal City, where he was as an Elder; previously served on the Coal City School Board; was a past Clay Pool Drainage Treasurer, and belonged to the American Legion. Glenn took pleasure in playing cards, hunting, fishing and sports. He was a huge Chicago Cubs fan and loved the outdoors. Glenn respected nature and wildlife and will be most remembered for his love of spending time with his family. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Betty (nee Johnston) on October 9, 1995; second wife Mary Lou Hampton on December 12, 2004 and his son-in-law Gary Smith.
