Mrs. James P. (Mary) DeBernardi, 60, of 835 Pine St., Ladd, died unexpectedly at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Francis Hospital, Peoria. She had been a hospital patient one day.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hurst Funeral Home, Ladd; and 10 a.m. in St. Benedict's Church, Ladd. The Rev. William Kirk OSB will officiate. Burial will be in the Ladd Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with a rosary at 8 p.m.

Mrs. DeBernardi was born March 25, 1924, in Peru to Stanley and Victoria Daniels Stopa. She married James DeBernardi, who died in 1976.

She was a member of St. Benedict's Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She had worked at Westclox for several years.

Mrs. DeBernardi is survived by one son, James, of Peru; her father, Stanley Stopa, of Peru; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Eleanore) Loebach of Granville and Mrs. Richard (Dolores) Folty of Tonica; one brother, Eugene, of Oglesby; and two grandchildren.
