MRS. SANFORD PEACH
GLACE BAY, Aug. 16 - Relatives received the sad news today of the death in a Halifax hospital of Mrs. Sanford Peach, formerly a highly esteemed resident of Homeville, and of late years a residence of Glace Bay.
Born at South Head, C. B., 61? years ago, Mrs. Peach had been in poor health for some time and some months ago she was removed to a Halifax hospital to undergo treatment.
Four years ago, Mrs. Peach's home at Black Brook, Homeville, was destroyed by fire. Following the fire, Mr. Peach erected a new residence in Glace Bay, on Douglas Avenue. For many years, Mrs. Peach was very actively associated with the Baptist church at Homeville, being an ardent and diligent worker in her church. She was a woman of pleasing personality and possessed admirable traits of character.
Besides her sorrowing husband she is survived by three daughters, Gene and Evelyn at home, and Mrs. Samuel Sloane, at Providence, R. I., and also by three sons, Earl, Stewart and Harold, all at home. Surviving sisters are Mrs. Annie Peach, Black Brook, Homeville, and Mrs. John Ferguson, Yorke street, Glace Bay.
The body of the late Mrs. Peach will arrive here Wednesday afternoon and on Thursday morning will be taken to the residence of her sister, Mrs. Annie Peach, Black Brook.
Interment will be in the village cemetery at Homeville and the funeral arrangements will be announced later, pending the arrival of her daughter, Mrs. Sloane, from the United States.
