GLACE BAY - Mrs. Ruth Shepard, South Head, Homeville died at the General Hospital Saturday. She was 88. Mrs. Shepard entered the institution on Friday.
A native of Black Brook, Port Morien, her husband Edwin Shepard predeceased her in 1950. Mrs. Shepard was a member of the Baptist church at Homeville.
She is survived by the following sons and daughters; Roy, Louisbourg; Thomas, Sydney; Charles, Port Morien; Fred at the family home; Bessie of Hartford, Conn.; now at home, (Jennie) Mrs. Donald MacCormack, Bridgeport, Conn.; (Verna) Mrs. Thomas MacDonald, South Street, Glace Bay and (Kay) Mrs. Everett MacNeil, Coxheath.
A sister Fred Lewis lives in Glace Bay and Tom Peach, Seattle, Wash., is a brother.
Funeral services will be held at the family home Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. and interment will be made in the Baptist Church cemetery, Homeville.
